Local rules

Members and visitors should kindly take careful notice of the local rules, and the necessity to replace divots and repair pitch marks, avoid slow play at all times and to abide by the rules and etiquette of golf.

Local Rules

A ball maybe lifted without penalty cleaned and dropped as near as possible to where it lay but not nearer the hole in the following circumstances (a ball when dropped must first strike a part of the course through the green):

• Through the green a ball that is embedded in it's own pitch mark in the ground other than in a hazard.

• A ball lying on any artificial surfaced path or road within the boundaries of the course.

• Through the green a ball that comes to rest in an aeration hole.

• If a ball lies on or off the putting green but not in an immovable obstruction (sprinkler head) is on or within two club lengths of the ball, intervening with play.

• A ball lying in any clearly defined sheep or wheel track.

If a players ball lies in GUR or it interferes with a players stance or the area of his intended swing the player must take relief under rules 25-1.

Stones in bunkers are moveable obstructions (rule 24-1 applies)
